J. Alain Smith⎮J. Alain Smith is a talented communicator, hunter, writer, musician, and adventurer who has traveled to the farthest reaches of the globe. Over his extraordinary career, he has collected 350 different game species, including the World Slams of Sheep and Goats, the North American Grand Slam of Sheep, and the African Big 5. Alain’s remarkable achievements have earned him numerous prestigious awards, such as the Conklin Award, the Weatherby Conservation Award, and SCI International Hunter of the Year. His passion for hunting was sparked in his youth while pursuing mallards and ring-necked pheasants near his home in Washington.

Best known as the host of the popular hunting show Rugged Expeditions, Alain is also an accomplished author. He has written five hunting books: Chasing the Adventure, Hunting New Horizons, Adventures in the Wild Places, Adventures in the Rugged Places, and Close Calls and Hunting Adventures. Additionally, he has penned three thrilling novels in the “Game” adventure series: It’s Not a Game Anymore, The Game’s Not Over, and Revenge is the Game.

A true advocate for wildlife conservation, Alain donates 100% of the proceeds from his book sales to programs such as Safari Club International, OVIS/GSC, and the SCI Foundation—even covering printing costs himself. To date, his books have raised over $155,000 for conservation efforts!
