J. Alain Smith⎮J. Alain Smith is a gifted communicator, hunter, writer, musician, and adventurer who has explored the farthest reaches of the world. He has collected 350 different game species, including World Slams of Sheep and Goats, the North American Grand Slam of Sheep, and the African Big 5. An author of eight books, he also produces the hit outdoor TV show Rugged Expeditions, and has received numerous honors, including the Conklin Award, the Weatherby Conservation Award, and SCI International Hunter of the Year. It all began during his youth, hunting mallards and ring-necked pheasants near his home in Washington.

While best known as the host of the popular hunting show Rugged Expeditions, Alain is also an accomplished writer. He has authored five hunting books: Chasing the Adventure, Hunting New Horizons, Adventures in the Wild Places, Adventures in the Rugged Places, and Close Calls and Hunting Adventures. Additionally, he has written three gripping novels in the “Game” adventure series: It’s Not a Game Anymore, The Game’s Not Over, and Revenge is the Game.

In a testament to Alain’s dedication to wildlife conservation, 100% of the proceeds from his book sales go directly to conservation programs such as Safari Club International, OVIS/GSC, and the SCI Foundation—even the printing costs are covered by Alain himself. To date, over $155,000 has been raised from book sales!
