PRIZE ⎮ A John Wilkes .500 Nitro Express boxlock double rifle. This beautiful rifle features 24-inch barrels, a color-case-hardened receiver highly engraved with English scrolls and gold inlay, a splinter forearm, and 26 LPI checkering. It weighs 11.52 lbs., with a 1.64-inch drop at the comb and a 2.44-inch drop at the heel. The length of pull is 15 inches to the front trigger and 14 inches to the back trigger from a 1.25-inch NECG recoil pad. A smaller recoil pad could be installed to accommodate those with shorter lengths of pull.
The rifle comes in a Zarges KOR Takedown 6102173 hard travel case, along with two boxes of Federal .500 NE 570-grain Swift A-Frame ammunition. It recently underwent reconditioning at Westley Richards and was given a clean bill of health. Pictures do not do this rifle justice — you have to see it in person to appreciate how special it is.

He apprenticed under legendary hunters Danny McCallum, Gerard Miller, and Chris Trent. Since then, he has been one of the most active professional hunters in the industry, averaging over 300 hunting days per year.
Mike is also a well-known wildlife photographer and a dedicated ambassador of the hunting-conservation model. He is the only modern-day professional hunter to have taken four 100-pound elephants—an achievement accomplished within just 30 months.
